As you may recall, I did a photo tutorial of a smoky eyes makeup effect last week: Tutorial Tuesday: Steely Smoke Eyes. I’ve found a video tutorial on smoky eyes at Video Jug that you may like.

It’s pretty gloomy in Montana today! Then there’s no better time to talk about makeup applicators. Did that make sense?
I’m talking about what you use to apply your makeup, including powder, eye shadow, and blush. You don’t have to use what comes with your makeup. In fact, you shouldn’t. Read on to find out what the best products are to use in all of these different situations.
Here are the classic applicators that come with makeup, and the better alternatives.

Today, I’m reviewing my favorite piece of makeup in my whole collection. You would expect, since it’s my favorite, that I’m going to give it an A+. Well, read on to see if you’re right.
I got the Elite Pro Cosmetics 88 Eye Shadow Pallet about a year ago. I was feeling particularly hard up for some eye shadow, so I did a search on eBay and found this pallet. 88 eye shadow colors! Needless to say, I bought the crap out of it. But is it really all it’s cracked up to be?
I bought this for $39.99 on eBay.
Pros: The biggest pro is the vast amount of colors you can work with. I can seriously match any outfit now. I also like how bright the colors are. They give you two different kinds of shadow: matte and shimmer. These colors blend really well.
They also last a really long time. As I mentioned above, I’ve had this pallet for about one year. I use it almost every day. Although each shadow is small compared to what you would get with other brands and pallets, none of them have run out. It comes with a mirror, if you ever want to take it out for a spin.

I thought to myself today, “Should I choose a website similar to mine? Maybe my readers will stop coming here if I do!” But you’ll still come right? You better!
Today, I’m talking to you about Temptalia. This blog is written by the masterful Christine. There are two kinds of posts that I absolutely love about this blog (and I wish I could steal.) On a daily basis, Christine will show us here ‘daily look.’ She shows us what makeup she’s worn that day and what she used to acheive the look.

If you’re like me, you can’t wait for Tutorial Tuesdays! I mean, I already know the technique and I’m still excited. Anyway, today I’m going to do something a little different. In the first tutorials, I did bright, colorful makeup that’s perfect for spring. Not this time! Instead, I’m doing an eye makeup tutorial on my own spin of the classic smoky eye.
I call it Steely Smoke Eyes. Why? Because it has a bluish-grey tint to it that reminds me of steel. As you can tell by now, I tend to name my makeup techniques after the things they remind me of. So clever!
This look is best for special occasions or when you really want to make a statement.
If you want to get a bluish smoky eye look, read on for this makeup tutorial! Read the rest of this entry »

If you’ve been watching America’s Next Top Model recently, you may have heard Cover Girl’s Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers lip gloss mentioned. Saleisha (winner of cycle 9) uses it when she goes out on go-sees! But is it actually good? I picked up the lip gloss and gave it the good ‘once over.’
The big selling point for Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers is the fruit smells. Each gloss has a different one. I purchased Lemon Splash and Raspberry Splash. They came in a two pack for $5.99 at Walgreens.
Pros: Lately, all the complaints I hear about lip glosses talk about stickiness. I know first hand about this, although I don’t always mind if they are. Don’t worry about Wetslicks. They aren’t sticky in the slightest. Although they give a super shiny sheen to your lips, you don’t have to worry about your hair getting stuck to them. The smell of these lip glosses are also amazing. Lemon Splash smells like lemon drops while the Raspberry Splash smells like watermelon bubble gum (for some reason). This lip gloss also lasts a really long time. I went around four hours without having to reapply. Read the rest of this entry »
