WetslicksIf you’ve been watching America’s Next Top Model recently, you may have heard Cover Girl’s Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers lip gloss mentioned. Saleisha (winner of cycle 9) uses it when she goes out on go-sees! But is it actually good? I picked up the lip gloss and gave it the good ‘once over.’

The big selling point for Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers is the fruit smells. Each gloss has a different one. I purchased Lemon Splash and Raspberry Splash. They came in a two pack for $5.99 at Walgreens.

Pros: Lately, all the complaints I hear about lip glosses talk about stickiness. I know first hand about this, although I don’t always mind if they are. Don’t worry about Wetslicks. They aren’t sticky in the slightest. Although they give a super shiny sheen to your lips, you don’t have to worry about your hair getting stuck to them. The smell of these lip glosses are also amazing. Lemon Splash smells like lemon drops while the Raspberry Splash smells like watermelon bubble gum (for some reason). This lip gloss also lasts a really long time. I went around four hours without having to reapply.

Cons: Normally, when a lip gloss advertises how it is all about the fruit, it has a flavor as well. Thats not the case for this. While I don’t need flavor in my lip gloss, I found this too surprising to ignore. Not only that, but the nice fruity smell wears off after about fifteen minutes. In this way, you really wonder why they made such a big deal about the fruit in the first place. Also, while the lip gloss has a color to it, it doesn’t seem to add any color once applied. That was surprising as well.

And now, for the before and after photos:

Before

From pale to nice and shiny! This was done with the Lemon Splash lip gloss. While it didn’t really add any color, it did add a nice shine and some pretty sparkles. I like this lip gloss, but I do have some reservations about them making such a big deal about the fruit. This definitely influenced the grade:
