Makeup Review: Elite Pro Cosmetics 88 Eye Shadow Palette
UPDATE: Elite Pro no longer sells this makeup palette, but Coastal Scents does. They have the exact same 88 eye shadow palette ($21.95) as well as an ultra shimmery version ($24.95) of the same colors. I recommend both.
Today, I’m reviewing my favorite piece of makeup in my whole collection. You would expect, since it’s my favorite, that I’m going to give it an A+. Well, read on to see if you’re right.
I got the Elite Pro Cosmetics 88 Eye Shadow Pallet about a year ago. I was feeling particularly hard up for some eye shadow, so I did a search on eBay and found this pallet. 88 eye shadow colors! Needless to say, I bought the crap out of it. But is it really all it’s cracked up to be?
Pros: The biggest pro is the vast amount of colors you can work with. I can seriously match any outfit now. I also like how bright the colors are. They give you two different kinds of shadow: matte and shimmer. These colors blend really well.
They also last a really long time. As I mentioned above, I’ve had this pallet for about one year. I use it almost every day. Although each shadow is small compared to what you would get with other brands and pallets, none of them have run out. It comes with a mirror, if you ever want to take it out for a spin.
Cons: Just like with most eye shadow pallets, this comes with its own applicators. These are, as you may predict, the spongy variety. I don’t know about you, but I never use these. I use a brush, thank you. Also, this pallet is huge. I can’t fit it into my makeup box. It is 6.5 by 9 inches, so most people won’t be able to store this well. Then again, that is the price of beauty, right?
Accessibility isn’t that great for this product, either. I bought it on eBay. While you can buy it elsewhere online, it’s cheapest on eBay. You also can’t get it in any stores (at least that I have ever seen.) This can be a problem for people who don’t want to take a chance with an auction site.
If you’d like to see what this can do, I used this pallet in a few of my makeup tutorials:

Taking all of these pros and cons, I have made my decision. While I love this pallet, it is hard to find and too big to keep in any small space. Because of that, I am going to give the Elite Pro Cosmetics 88 Eye Shadow Pallet a…
Well, It wasn’t an A+. It’s hard to get an A, but this product deserves it.
