MAC Cosmetics Suggestions?

If you pay attention to the Beauty Blogosphere at all, then you know about the MAC sale going on right now. With a certain coupon, you can get 15% discount at any of the MAC stores (not including MAC counters at department stores.)

Boooo. I don’t live in an area with a MAC store. Not even a counter.

Luckily, they’re also going to be having the same deal for online orders Monday only. Yay! Now that’s something I can get behind.

Confession: I only own one thing from MAC, and it was given to me. It’s a pigment pot, Blue Brown.

Isn’t that astonishing? I mean, I have this makeup blog, and I don’t even really have any of the most popular and most sought after makeup brand.

So, my question to you guys is, what should I get? I have no idea what to do. I go to the website and there’s so many things.

Are there any essentials that I just need to get? I’ve heard that the Paint Pot in Painterly is something special and important, but what else? Which type of eye shadow is the best? What are they really good at?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trisha

    Oh yay! I love MAC shopping… you’ll be like a kid in a candy store, I’m telling ya…

    I’d say I spend most of my money on the eyeshadows there (their Lip Glass is awesome too). Beauty Marked, Parfait Amour, Sumptuous Olive, Gleam, and Honey Lust are some of my favorites. I’m jealous! I’m broke, or I’d be getting myself some new goodies. :)

    @Morgan

    I checked out those colors. Very nice! I wonder…what’s the difference between the regular eye shadow and the pigments? Is one used in a different way than the others?

    I feel like such a MAC noob.

    You know, to be honest… I have no idea! I thought they were just a more concentrated shadow, but then Christine said all those things about it being dangerous if it got in your eyeballs. I’ll stick with the normal stuff, thank you very much. I’m blind enough. :)

    I’ll confess…friends of mine have raved about MAC for years, but I didn’t take the plunge until last week.

    As a girl who wears foundation every day (I have a little rosacea and feel rotten about my skin if I don’t cover it), and who has tried just about every drug store brand and type, I simply cannot say enough about MAC foundations. They cover flawlessly with less, match my skin tone perfectly, and are a breeze to apply. I wish I had tried them sooner.
