Makeup Review: N.Y.C. Liquid Eyeliner

Lately, I’ve been focusing a lot of my attention on liquid eyeliner. I’ve written posts about it and I’ve done some makeup looks featuring this kind of thing as well.

Since my favorite brand of liquid eyeliner (by Loreal) was all out, I had to use one of my backup liners: N.Y.C. Liquid Eyeliner in Jet Black. I wasn’t expecting it to be very good.

Want to know how it fared? Read on for the makeup review of the N.Y.C. Liquid Eyeliner.

Pros: This goes on very smoothly. Liquid eyeliner applicators come in many different forms, and this is one of the best. The tip is flexible and smooth and leaves a clean line. It’s also very thin so you can get pretty precise with it as well.

I also really liked the formula. It was thin enough to be used easily, without looking washed out. Also, the price is great. You can find them at drugs stores and anywhere they sell inexpensive makeup, including online, for around $1.99. That’s unheard of for something so good.

Cons: To be honest, I really can’t think of many cons. I guess the applicator tip is a bit too flexible so my line sometimes went out of whack. Also, like all liquid eyeliners to a degree, it takes about a half a minute for the eyeliner to dry, so watch what you’re doing. They only have three colors, Jet Black, Sable, and Pearlized Black.

So, how do I feel about N.Y.C. Liquid Eyeliner over all? I think it’s pretty darn good. My complaints are very few, and not even that big of a deal. Because of that, I’m giving it an:

  1. Have you tried Prestige liquid eyeliner in the tiny wand/pot looking thing? I love it and it seems to dry pretty fast too and lasts all day until I take it off with my makeup remover. It cost about $4-5 in drugstores.

  2. Well, Prestige has two different kinds. I tried the kind with the thinner wand part and the thick inkwell, where the applicator part is kind of a sponge. I didn’t like that at all. It didn’t go on very well. I was actually planning a review of it one of these days.

I don’t know if that’s the one you have. If so, I’m glad it worked for someone!
