That’s right, my favorite color. The point of the monthly makeup challenges is to get you trying new things when it comes to your cosmetics. It’s also a way to show off what you can do.
Head on over to Temptalia to check out what everyone did for the challenge over these past four weeks. You may get a lot of ideas for your own cute, pink makeup look. Read the rest of this entry »
Let’s say, it’s Monday and you’re at work. When you got ready in the morning, you put on your regular dull appropriate makeup.
But now some coworkers invited you out to a bar or club after work. You don’t want to go back home to get snazzed up for the event, so what do you do?
There are actually super easy ways to bring your day makeup into some nighttime activities. Just by making these easy changes, you’ll look much more appropriate for the event.
I chose to do a fire related tutorial today. Mostly because I was wearing a red halter dress at the time. I wanted to match!
This look is called Fire Season. I live in a state that has a yearly fire season (no, not California. Montana). In fact, just about a week ago, or most important mountain was on fire. While it looked neat at night, it’s serious business.
Anyway, the classic fire colors are red, orange, yellow and white. Of course, the fire is hottest when it’s white. Right?
Using these three colors, I created the Fire Season makeup tutorial, which is so scorching hot!
When you start to really get into makeup, you’ll likely want to carry some around with you during the day. But what do you choose? What can’t you live without?
I like to carry a complete makeup kit with me in my purse wherever I go. So, if I forget to put makeup on (the horror!) I can do up my face with what I’ve got in my bag. Read the rest of this entry »
Have you used one of the Tutorial Tuesdays from this website? I would love to see it!
Next time you do one of the tutorials, whether it’s Rainbow Eyes, Watermelon Eyes, or the Lemon Lime look, take some pictures. Then you could get your picture up on one of my posts.
Of course, I’ll cite your name with the picture and everything. If you have your own blog, I can link to it as well. Read the rest of this entry »
I didn’t forget about the Outfit to Match series! See! Here’s a new one!
Today, we’re going to match the Glacial Dust makeup look from one of my previous makeup tutorials. This look utilized green and blue to make a shimmery masterpiece. Check it out:
As you can see, this uses these colors to make almost a metallic look. This is great for the summer when you want to look totally glam, yet appropriate for the weather. Read the rest of this entry »
I’m going on a mini vacation starting tomorrow. I’ll be soaking up the sun at a lake – with cabins and everything!
The picture to the right isn’t of where I’m going, but I’m betting it’s similar.
What does this mean for you? Well, I won’t be around like I normally am. I’ll be gone from Thursday to Sunday, so I won’t be available during that time.
Although I won’t be here, there may be a few surprises and posts coming y’all’s way. Stay tuned to the blog. You never know what will happen while I’m gone.
Purple is so in right now. I went to a clothing store the other day and almost everything on the racks had purple in it. (It’s a shame. I wish pink was in right now, but I guess purple is the new pink.)
In the makeup world, smoky eyes is in right now as well. I decided to put these two trends together, so I created Plum Smoke.
Did you know that you can do a smoky eyes look without using any grey or black eye shadow? It’s true. The smoke in this tutorial is subtle, but still so totally adorable, without any of those colors.
This look also has a vintage feel based on how I did the eyeliner and mascara. If you like vintage makeup techniques, then you’ll like this look.
At first thought, you may not even realize how much yellow makeup you really wear. It may be some nice yellow/gold nail polish, or a yellow highlight on your lids.
In fact, yellow is used in a lot of makeup. They add specks of yellow and gold to lipsticks, lotions, lip glosses, you name it. But why is yellow so sought after? It’s just a color, right?
As you may remember, I’ve been talking about color for the past few weeks and about how color effects mood and emotion. I did red and green. And now comes yellow. Read the rest of this entry »
