8 Cool Reasons to Wear Lipstick
There are so many reasons to wear lipstick, it’s a surprise that I don’t wear it every day.
But with this list, I just might!
Read on to learn many cool reasons to wear lipstick!
- You’re too lazy/tired/busy to do anything else. It doesn’t take that long to put on some lipstick. If you’re rushing out the door, throw on a bold shade. Instead of looking like you just rolled out of bed, you’ll have a glamorous look – even without eye makeup.
- You want to be different. Most women don’t wear lipstick. And when they do, they choose a muted shade much like the natural color of their lips. You can’t even tell! To be different, wear bold colored lipsticks. You’ll stand out for sure.
- You want to leave lipstick on his collar. Want to mark your territory? Leaving a lipstick trail on your man will show everyone else that he’s T-A-K-E-N.
- You want to mix it up. If you have a fail-safe makeup look you turn to every day, you may want to mix it up some. Be brave and put in a lipstick-centered look into your repertoire. It’s always good to be versatile.
- You want to show off. Proud of your makeup application abilities? Have a complete look by adding lipstick into the mix. Anyone you cross paths with will know just how good you are.
- You want to look sexy and romantic. Lipstick, especially red and fuscia, is perfect for a romantic dinner date. It’s the makeup equivalent of a flash of cleavage.
- You want to go retro. Although lipstick isn’t a big trend now, that wasn’t always the case. If you want to channel the vixens of the 30s and 40s, try darker, richer lipstick colors. Meow!
- You just want to look pretty. Hey, nothing wrong with that!
Now you really don’t have a reason NOT to wear lipstick!
Do you have any other super cool reasons for wearing your favorite shade?

hi! I just stumbled upon your website. I don’t know if this is a weird or rude question but how do you put lipstick on without getting it all over your lip ring(which is pretty cool by the way, I’ve never seen one like that before). How do you get your lipstick to look so good? I’ve never been able to pull off lipstick, maybe I just don’t like how it looks on me. I stick with neutral lipglosses and such.

Hi Jess! Welcome to Makeup Files!
It’s not rude or weird at all! I was sitting at a restaurant with my step family and everyone was talking amongst themselves. I went to my purse to apply some lip gloss. When I was done, I looked up and everyone was silent and staring at me.
I was like, “What?” and my step sister said, “That was amazing. I always wondered how you did that.”
So, in answer to your question: I apply the lipstick or lip gloss to each side of my bottom lip, separately. Then, when I rub my lips together, I do it once on the right side, and once on the left. It’s honestly pretty easy, although I guess somewhat of a spectacle.
Maybe I’ll make a video of it for the blog sometime!
Also, I bet if you keep trying and experimenting, you can find some great ways to rock lipstick. I was like you, thinking that it wasn’t for me. I have since changed my mind.
