Makeup Review: Loreal Colour Riche Star Secrets Lipcolour
Normally, beauty companies create a lipstick color, name it something clever, and sell it to consumers. Loreal did something different.
The Loreal Colour Riche Star Secrets Lipcolour series has colors corresponding to celebrities.  Apparently, they had these celebrities come in, like Eva Longoria Parker and Andie MacDowell, and created a color specifically for them. Then they’re selling it to us.
I purchased Loreal Colour Riche Star Secrets Lipcolour in Penelope’s Red for $8.99 in a drug store. That’s Penelope Cruz’s shade of red.
But how did it stand up to testing?
This is one of the best red lipsticks I’ve found. It works well for my complexion. I guess me and Spanish actress Penolope Cruz have similar coloring.
The fragrance of this lipstick is actually pretty nice. It smells like flowers. It’s a light scent, though, so nothing overpowering or harsh.
The color is very vibrant. As you can see in the picture to the left, it has a bright, clean, clear color. What you see is what you get with this.
The consistency, while shiny, is also a little oily. It doesn’t stick to the lips as well as other lipsticks.
That means that the staying power is also not so good.
I’ve used this lipstick in some tutorials. Click the links to see Loreal Colour Riche Star Secrets Lipcolour in action:
While there are a lot of pros to this lipstick, and I generally like it, I can’t ignore the lack of consistency and staying power. Because of this, it’s not getting as good of a grade as it could.
I’m giving Loreal Colour Riche Star Secrets Lipcolour a:
Still a pretty good grade, though!
If any of you have used this, including the other colors, I’d be happy to hear what you thought.
