Beauty Review: L’Oreal Studio Line Smoothness Glossing Cream
I’m sure you’ve noticed in any of my pictures on this site that I have curly hair. And you probably also noticed that it can get mighty frizzy. It’s the plague of the curly haired lady, for sure.
The whole ‘control frizz’ industry is because of is.
To help my frizzy frizzies, I decided to try L’Oreal Studio Line Smoothness Glossing Cream. Here’s what it says on the bottle:
Silky Shine Effect Calms Frizz
Let’s see if it actually lives up to its word.
You can find L’Oreal Studio Line Smoothness Glossing Cream online and in stores for around $4.99.
Check it out:
How does it smell?
It’s nice. It smells more fruity than perfume-y or flowery. It’s not too strong, but since you put it on your hair without rinsing it out, it is a tiny bit stronger than you might expect.
I liked it, though.
How do you use it?
Here’s the directions from the bottle:
Rub a small amount between your palms and apply evenly to damp hair, making sure to spread fingers through hair for optimal distribution. Apply more as needed, taking hair into palms and sliding them down hair from root to tip. Style any way you choose.
How well does it work?
I have two examples of how it works.
The first time I used it, I used only a small amount (about the size of a dime for my medium length hair). I rubbed it throughout my damp hair , especially on my bangs and the hair at my temples, where it needs it most. After it dried, I found that it worked really well. My hair didn’t have any frizz and it looked really nice.
The second time I used it, I used a larger amount (about the size of an American quarter). I used it on the same parts in my hair, just like before. I used too much of the L’Oreal Studio Line Smoothness Glossing Cream, and it weighed my hair down. While their weren’t any frizzies, but my hair felt terrible.
Moral of the story? Be careful how much you use. It works great if you only use a little bit. Keep this in mind! It’s easy to screw this up.
The Final Verdict
I liked it. I did. You just have to be careful of how much you use. And because of this, I give the L’Oreal Studio Line Smoothness Glossing Cream a:
B+
Did you use it? What did you think?
