Hairspray.  People rarely talk about it.  It’s an important part of some hairstyles, though.  For example, I like to crimp my hair sometimes.  (80s, anyone?) And, if I don’t use hairspray the crimped parts will start to straighten out in a few hours.

Keeping on with all the L’Oreal reviews I’ve been doing lately, I decided to try L’Oreal Paris Studio Line Perfect Fix Ultra-Fine Spray Finishing Hairspray.  You can normally find this at drug stores and online for about $4.99.

Let’s see how well this did:

How does it smell?

Am I obsessed with the fragrance of things, or what?  I mean, it is an important aspect of hair care stuff.  Since hairspray is likely the last thing you use on your hair, it needs to smell good.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what the L’Oreal Finishing Hairspray smells like.  It reminds me of something in my childhood I can’t quite place.  I guess it smells like that spray hair color that people use on Halloween.

I guess it smells like fruit and alcohol.  It’s not bad.  Not the best, either, but definitely tolerable.

How well does it hold?

If I hadn’t looked at the bottle, I would say that it works well.  It held my hair just fine.

But, the bottle says ‘extreme hold.’  Um, no.  It didn’t hold my hair in an extreme way, sorry.  They got that wrong.  I would have said, ‘medium hold.’  That’s much more accurate.

How well does it work?

It’s fine.  It works for the entire day.  Here’s the promise the bottle makes:

I would agree with that. It does what it says.  It doesn’t leave my hair feeling sticky or weighed down like other hairsprays.

I did have one gripe, though.  The nozzle is annoying.  It gets stuck in the down position, so it sprays for a little longer than I want.

The Final Verdict

This product does what it’s supposed to do, but it doesn’t blow me away.  I didn’t think, ‘wow, this is amazing.’  It was fine, it was just a regular hair spray.  For that, I give L’Oreal Paris Studio Line Perfect Fix Ultra-Fine Spray Finishing Hairspray a:
