Makeup Review: Urban Decay Eyeshadow Ammo Shadow Box
Urban Decay is known for their highly pigmented eye shadows. You can purchase each color separately, or you can get a nice palette of colors.
With some holiday money, I was able to pick up the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Ammo Shadow Box. It consists of 10 different shimmery and sparkly shadows:
- Smog
- Mildew
- Oil Slick
- Last Call
- Chopper
- Maui Wowie
- Shattered
- Polyester Bride
- Grifter
- Sin
Since the color names really don’t give you much of an idea of what it actually looks like, check out a close-up shot of the colors:

I do have a small gripe, though. The makeup applicator that it comes with is essentially useless to me. Sponge tip applicators don’t blend very well at all. I would use my fingertip before I ever used this. But I don’t use my finger. I use a medium sized eye shadow brush. They’re better.
How are the color combinations?
It seems like Urban Decay really thought this through. It’s possible to create several different looks using only eye shadow from this palette. In fact, I even used it in a few makeup tutorials:

The Final Verdict
Besides the small transgression of a useless sponge applicator, there really isn’t anything wrong with this makeup palette. It has a good price, is small and thin enough to fit in a purse, has a big mirror, and has great eye shadows. For this reason, I give the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Ammo Shadow Box an…
