Beauty Review: L’Oreal Paris EverPure Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner
I like dying my hair. Whether it’s some nifty color like pink, or a regular dark brown, I rarely show my natural hair color.
Last summer, I dyed my hair dark, almost black. A few weeks later the color had faded so much that it matched my natural light brown hair color. Only a few weeks! And this was #3 fully permanent color.
Obviously, I was disappointed.
As you may recall, I dyed my hair dark brown again just a few weeks ago. I didn’t want it to fade away like last time, so I got L’Oreal Paris EverPure Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner. It’s made specifically for people with colored hair, to prevent fading.
Well, let’s see how this shampoo and conditioner stacked up…
How well did it work?
It’s been about three weeks since I dyed my hair dark brown. I can tell you right now, the color looks exactly like it did that first day. My eyes can’t find any difference from then and now.
L’Oreal EverPure hair products save your hair color because they don’t use any sulfates, like most other shampoos and conditioners. Sulfates dry out hair and they can strip away the color. Without it, you should have softer hair that has longer lasting color.
I’ve found this to be true. My only beef with the product is that the shampoo isnt that impressive. Other than the awesome smell, which I’ll get to in a moment, I don’t see how this differs from anything else. The conditioner is different. It does a great job and I could see myself buying more of this.
How does it smell?
The scent from L’Oreal EverPure shampoo comes from rosemary and juniper. It kind of smells like tea and pine trees. But, real tea and pine trees, as opposed to the fake scent of it.
The conditioner is even better. This time, it uses rosemary and mint. So, it kind of reminds me of Sleepytime Tea by Celestial Seasonings. Like tea herbs and spearmint. Nice! And I could smell it on my head for the rest of the day. It’s relaxing.
The Final Verdict
I can’t deny the fact that my home hair color hasn’t faded. Even though the shampoo is only okay, it does what it set out to do. Add in the fact that this stuff smells amazing, and you have a winning formula. For that, I give the L’Oreal Paris EverPure Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner a:
B+
