Makeup Review: Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper
I’ve been reviewing a lot of mascaras lately. A lot of people are like me. If you have just 10 seconds and are set on not leaving the house without makeup, just swipe on some mascara.
Were often on a continuous quest to find the right mascara for us. It can be tough!
Lately, I’ve been trying the Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper mascara in Black Velvet (a kind of blue-tinted black). Those are quite some claims! Judging by the name, I would expect this mascara to make my lashes look plump and thick.
Did it work? Read on to find out.
How well does it work?
First, check out this before and after picture so you can see the 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper in action:
As you can see, the mascara did a good job of defining each individual lash. There was a small amount of clumping, but it wasn’t anything an eyelash comb couldn’t handle.
The mascara wand is very thick and fat. This made it a bit difficult to get at the lashes near the inside corner of the eye.
Other than that, I was pleased with the look I got from this mascara. It’s dark and dramatic, so keep that in mind when you’re doing your makeup before work.
Does it plump up lashes?
Well, you saw the before and after pictures. What did you think?
Personally, it doesn’t seem like the mascara is living up to the product name. Extreme lash plumper? I wouldn’t say that. Sure, it thickens up lashes, but not as well as it should.
I think Max Factor had a blunder when it came to naming the product.
The Final Verdict
I can’t ignore the advertising. If you’re looking for mascara that’s going to make your lashes look super fat, this isn’t it. But, if you’re looking for something that will make your lashes look somewhat thick and dramatic, you’ll like Max Factor 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper. I gave it a:

You can pick up this mascara, both in regular and waterproof, in stores (like Target) and online (like drugstore.com) for around $9.98.
