Makeup Review: Max Factor Vivid Impact Lipcolor

This spring and summer, pink is back in style. (Yay! I love pink!)

I tried a pink shade of Max Factor Vivid Impact Lipcolor, a new lipstick line. My shade was #28 Rose Rage.

This lipstick has been the talk of the town here on the internet. But is it really all it’s cracked up to be? Tune in to find out…

How well does it apply?

Some lipsticks have such a thick, matte finish that it feels like you’re putting a thin paste on your lips. That’s one of the reasons why I prefer lip gloss. It feels like I’m moisturizing my lips when I use the gloss.

The good thing about the Vivid Impact Lipcolor is that it goes on real smooth. It feels moist kind of like a lip gloss, but not wet or sticky. It glides on really well.

How good does it look?

You be the judge! Check out a picture of my lips covered in Rose Rage.

Looks pretty good, huh? I think so. It was kind of hard for me to tell because Rose Rage is a shade very close to my natural lip color. Still, I liked the cute pink tones of the lipstick.

There is one downside, though. This lipstick is of the Vivid Impact line of Max Factor products. It is supposed to be highly pigmented and vivid, hence the name.

I really didn’t see that, though. It doesn’t look particularly vivid to me. Perhaps if I’d tried their other colors, like Ablaze or Wine Not, I’d feel differently. Still, I have to judge by what I have on hand.

The Final Verdict

Overall, I like this lipstick. I would like it even more if they hadn’t claimed that it was ‘vivid’. I’m not just reviewing how well something works, but also how well it performs based on the promises the company made. And for that reason, I give the Max Factor Vivid Impact Lipcolor a:

B

You can find this lipstick both in stores (like Target) and online (like drugstore.com) for around $7.98.
