Makeup Files No Longer a Part of Total Beauty

Hey gals!

If you’re a fellow beauty blogger or are just hip to the scene, you may know about some controversy in regards to statements that the CEO of Total Beauty made.

Any company that insults the people who made it what it is is just not cool it my book.

I’m not going to make some long statement about it, though. Plenty of other bloggers have done it for me.

I would just like to say that I am a professional blogger, and Makeup Files is a professional blog. Instead of working through Total Beauty, I’ve decided to do it all myself. Whether that’s work with PR specialists 1 on 1, or creating my own content.

How is Makeup Files going to change now that it’s not a part of the Total Beauty blog network? Not much! We lost a banner in the sidebar and I won’t be linking to the site anymore.

If you’d like to read all about my practices when it comes to PR and affiliations, check out the brand new disclaimer. Yowza!

Any questions? Let me know in the comments.

  1. Good for you! Thank you for bringing that statement to my attention. Wow I can not believe what he said. I trust what an individual blogger has to say about products they review. The individual bloggers I follow and subscribe to tell it like it is. If they find something negative they will state so. I do not care if a company gave you a product to test or if you bought it yourself, I know you will give me your honest opinion.

  2. Glad to hear this too, Trisha. I certainly believe that you could do it by yourself just fine. We’re with you 🙂

  3. you may want to check their blog network. They still have you listed as being in their network.
