CoverFX MintGlaze FX Lip Primer promises a lot, so I thought I’d check it out. I’ll make sure it’s on the level!

How does it smell?

When I first used this product, it’s smell reminded me of something that I just couldn’t put my finger on. Then I figured it out. It smells like Junior Mints .

More specifically, it smells like the mint inside of the Junior Mints. Exactly like it. In fact, the lip primer, while labeled ‘clear’ is even slightly opaque just like Junior Mint goo.

Now, is this a good thing? I say yes. It smells yummy. It doesn’t taste yummy, which is better because I won’t chew it off my lips all day.

If you don’t like the smell of Junior Mints, though, you might want to avoid MintGlaze lip primer.

How does it work?

MintGlaze FX comes with a wand applicator with a brush tip. You paint it right onto your lips like you’re making a fun painting for art class.

I used CoverFX MintGlaze in two ways:

1. I spread it on my lips before bed. Since this stuff is so thick and feels restorative, I thought it would do well to soften my lips overnight. I noticed a small improvement the next morning whenever I tried this method. It goes well as the last step to a nighttime skincare routine.
2. I used it as a real lip primer. Coat your lips with this stuff, then add a lipstick over it. It makes your lips look smooth and glossy. It also works to dilute a strongly colored lipstick.

For both uses, the MintGlaze worked well. I was pleased with the results.

The Final Verdict

I honestly can’t think of much wrong with this product. If anything, it’s very sticky. Put your long hair back or you’ll be picking strands off your lips. In general though, I liked this product and I plan on keeping it in my regular beauty arsenal. For that reason, I give CoverFX MintGlaze FX Lip Primer a:
