Makeup Review: Stila Charmed Eye Shadow Palette
How would you feel if your eye shadow had real 24k gold in it? Would that affect your buying decision?
Today I’m reviewing the Charmed Eye Shadow Palette by Stila. This eye shadow quad comes with 4 metallic shades: pink, gold, blue and plum. The shimmer of this metallic shadow comes directly from real 24k gold flecks.
Seems gimmicky, huh? I decided to try it out to see if it was really all it was cracked up to be.
How does it work?
Charmed Palette’s pigments are highly saturated, so a little bit goes a long way. It loads up on my eye shadow brush with just a flick of the wand, as opposed to cheaper shadows that take a lot of might.
While this is a powder shadow, it has a slightly creamy texture that helps it go on smoothly.
It blends well, although not as well as other, more powdery shadows.
How does it look?

Don’t take my word for it. Check it out yourself:
Although the 4 colors are all very different, they go together well. I used all 4 in a recent makeup tutorial I entitled Bejeweled.
The Charmed Palette provides a dense shimmer without being sparkly that I often can’t find in other shadows.
The Final Verdict
I really like this shadow. Sure, it doesn’t blend as well as some others, but it is otherwise very nice. I’ve been using it a lot lately. It’s also very reasonably price. Because of all this, I give the Stila Charmed Eye Shadow Palette an:
