Beautiful New Year’s Resolutions
Happy New Year and welcome to 2010!
Today starts not only a new year, but a new decade as well.
While you’re figuring out your new year’s resolutions don’t forget about the beauty aspects of your life. Sure, having a goal to lose weight or quit smoking is important, but adding smaller goals will give you easier things to accomplish while chiseling away at your larger resolutions.
Not sure what beauty-related goal you want to work on this year? Here’s a list of potential beauty resolutions that may fit your style:
“I resolve to…
- …wash my makeup brushes once a week.” Not only will dirty brushes muddy up your makeup look, they can contain dirt and bacteria that will ruin your beautiful skin. Washing them once a week with brush cleaner or antibacterial soap and water will keep you looking great for the whole year.
- …wash my face every day.” Whether you choose to do this step at night before bed or in the morning during your daily getting-ready routine, washing your face will promote healthy looking skin, especially when you add a thick facial moisturizer as a finishing step.
- …wear sunscreen every day.” Though winter weather is cold and often overcast, that doesn’t mean harmful UV rays from the sun won’t damage your skin. Throw on a layer of sunscreen every day to limit sun damage and save yourself from potential skin cancer.
- …clear out everything in my makeup kit that I didn’t use in 2009.” If you went a whole year without using that stick of bright turquoise eyeliner, you probably never will. Give unopened makeup to friends or charity and throw the rest away.
- …focus on something I like about myself every day.” Pick out one thing you like about your inner beauty and one thing you like about your outer beauty. It could be your vibrant spirit and pouty lips, or your good listening skills and your rock hard calf muscles. When you spend time every day focusing on the positive, your self-esteem will improve by leaps and bounds come 2011.
As you go through this new year, don’t forget about both your inner and outer beauty. Even if you just focus on one goal, whether it’s from the list above or your own design, you will improve the way you look and feel.
