I Have 93 Different Eye Shadows
Christine of Temptalia put up a poll today asking how many eye shadows we had. I said 100+ although that was just a guess.
After responding to that poll, I got to thinking about my eye shadow collection. It’s been growing for years and I’d never counted any of it.
Well, that ends today. I’ve finally counted all of my many shadows. I counted palettes and compacts as 1 unless each individual color could be removed. I also counted how many colors I have all together.

A decent collection, huh? Though not as much as some beauty bloggers out there.
The final tally was:
- 93 Eye Shadows, counting palettes and compacts with non-removable shadows as 1.
- 348 Individual Colors, across the board.
Pulling everything out and counting each one made me remember a bunch of makeup I haven’t used in a long time. I’m hoping to integrate them into my looks and tutorials in the future.
Perhaps you should pull everything out, too. Maybe you’ll find stuff you forgot about. It’s like getting new makeup!

Bcteagirl: When you count yours, you should totally come back and let me know. I think many of us don’t quite realize how big our collections are until we make the official count. Frankly, I was surprised by how many colors I had. That’s MANY rainbows.

Wow…so many eyeshadows you have there….I don’t think I own more than 10 + only one eyeshadow palette. I try not to buy so many because I don’t want them to expire and then to see that I didn’t had time to use them all. Lately I don’t use so much makeup like I used to
Bcteagirl: Dental surgery? Terrible! The only dental surgery I’ve had was wisdom teeth removal, but it was terrible. I’m glad they don’t grow back because I wouldn’t want to go through that again. Good luck with the surgery! I look forward to your return.
Tavia: What I’m about to say may be controversial, but I don’t believe that most makeup, especially eye shadow, expires like the beauty companies and magazines would have us believe. I see no difference in my older shadow. So I keep using it.
Now, mascara? That definitely expires.
