Face of the Day 01-24-2010 Orange Smoke
We all get inspiration from somewhere. For makeup, I can often be found entering ‘eye shadow tutorial’ in YouTube’s search engine to learn new makeup techniques.
Today, I decided to try a orange smoky look based on the video tutorial by Jenn of JennisseMakeup.
Have a look at the full video:
I don’t own all of the products Jenn used for her look, but I did have one of the main ingredients: MAC Orange eye shadow. I used equivalent products for everything else. This is how it turned out:
Lovely, eh? Probably one of my favorite looks I’ve ever done. And the cool thing is you can use pretty much any color. This uses orange, but since I first looked at the tutorial (a few weeks ago), I’ve also used pink and purple.
Today, it’s all about the original orange, though.
For the eyes, besides MAC Orange, I used my Elite Pro Cosmetics 88 Eye Shadow palette for the black color that created the smoke. The light part on my lid under the crease was L’Oreal Wear Infinite Eye Shadow in Satin Tutu.
I wore Prestige Soft Blend Khol Eyeliner in Jet Black on the lower lid, blending it with the provided smudger. On the top lid, I used the same black shade from the Elite palette, but applied it wet for a straight, sharp line to act as a liner.
The eye look ended with Lancome CILS Design Pro double-ended mascara in Black on the top and bottom lashes.
For my lips, I used Avon Ultra Color Rich Extra Plump Lipstick for that subdued light pink look. After all, the eyes are dramatic enough as it is.
What’s your makeup like today?
