Beauty Review: Degree Women Natureffects Deodorant and Body Spray
I recently alerted my readers to a new line of Degree deodorant/antiperspirant and body spray called Natureffects. It was a big deal to me because I was a fan of a previous line of Degree products: the Fine Fragrance Collection.
Now that I’ve had the chance to thoroughly try Natureffects, I feel I can give an accurate review of the products.
The Natureffects line is basically the same as any other Degree line, except that it’s been ‘inspired by nature’. The scents have a natural tone to them and are very earthy and plant-y.
How does it smell?
There are three main scents to Natureffects, and each corresponds to a deodorant and body spray duo (sold separately.)
- Orange Flower and Cranberry: This is my favorite. It’s sweet but still has a fresh scent of leaves. The cranberry is very subtle.
- Honeysuckle and Tea Tree Oil: A flowery scent, this smells a lot better on me than straight from the package.
- Olive Leaf and Pink Pepper: A spicy, leafy scent, this is perfect for those that like to smell spicy and musky. Since I’m not one of those people, this was my least favorite.
The deodorant/antiperspirant smells basically the same as the body spray. You would think that the spray would have a stronger scent, but it doesn’t. It’s very subtle.
Is the fragrance good for those with a sensitivity?
I can only speak for myself here, but I have an adverse reaction to most scents. Luckily, just like with the Fine Fragrance Collection, I didn’t have any bad reactions with Natureffects. Even the body spray worked well and didn’t make me break out.
How well does it work?
There are two aspects to this product: deodorant and antiperspirant.
- As a deodorant, this worked very well. I smelled just as great at the end of the day as I did at the beginning. On one occasion, I even walked up a mountain, and I still smelled good.
- As an antiperspirant, it didn’t work as well. I didn’t seem to drip with sweat any less than any other deodorant brand, nor much better without any product at all. I’m not the kind of person who sweats a lot, yet Natureffects still let moisture through.
This product is an invisible solid, and it stays true to that designation. I didn’t find any white marks on my clothing.
As for the body spray, the scent lasted about half the day on one spray.
The Final Verdict
If you want to smell good, like nature, all day, then Natureffects is a good choice. It kept me smelling good all day, even with a lot of activity. The scents are nice and delicate and they remind me of spring. They’re also good for people with sensitivities to fragrance, based on my own experience. Unfortunately, Degree Women Natureffects isn’t as good at keeping me dry. That lowers the final grade. I give this product a:
C+
