Beauty Review: Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk
I have a lot of problems with my hair. It looks amazing on the day that I wash it. My curls are uniform and luscious. My straightened bangs fall perfectly to the side. It’s like a beautiful dream.
Unfortunately, the next day my hair looks terrible. I’m serious, it’s hideous. The curls are tangled beyond recognition and my bangs have turned to a greasy mess that gets even worse with another straightening. If I brush out the tangles in my curls, my head turns into an ugly afro.
I go from super beautiful to super ugly overnight. No joke.
Up until now, I’ve just dealt with it. I’d hide from the public eye when I have what I lovingly call “Day 2 Hair”. After all, you read all over the place that it’s bad for your hair to wash it every day.
Then I heard of dry shampoo. You put it on your hair and it magically makes it all better again. Without washing it.
To see if this really worked the way it should, I tried Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk. While it got an Editor’s Choice Award from Allure Magazine, I wanted to see for myself.
How does it work?
Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo comes in an aerosol can with a steady, continuous stream. Just shake it and spray it directly at your hair. It sprays out a fine mist of powder. It works best if you spray it near your roots from a few inches away.
Let it sit that way for two minutes, then brush it through your hair from root to tip. Tah dah! You’re done!
A little bit goes a long way, so just a little bit of spray is good for your whole head.
And guess what? It’s hypoallergenic and made of mostly natural ingredients.
How does it smell?
Klorane smells very fresh. It’s sweet but not overpowering. While my hair had this smell for a little while, it wears off after a few hours. I thought that was a good thing since I really didn’t need any extra scent in my hair. Also, it does a good job of neutralizing any latent odors you may have in your slightly dirty hair.
Does it work well?
Since you have to brush the product through your hair, it works best for people with straight or slightly wavy hair. After all, you should never brush your curls. It ruins them.
I tried applying it to my curls without brushing it. I DID work well at reducing some of the greasiness near the roots, although it didn’t work as well as it could have.
However, it worked VERY well on my bangs. Since I straighten my bangs, I could brush it through with ease. Plus, my bangs are usually the greasiest part of my hair. When I used Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk, not only did it remove the oil, it also made it look and feel very clean. It made my Day 2 Bangs into Day 1 Bangs. That makes it worth the money right there.
The Final Verdict
It works well, it smells good and it’s easy to use. There isn’t much wrong with Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo. My only gripe is the need for brushing, since this is the bane of a curly-haired girls existence. If you have a full head of curly hair, you’d probably do better with dry shampoo that doesn’t require this step. Still, it’s a must-have for straight-haired girls with oily hair. I recommend it. I gave this dry shampoo an…
