Beauty Insider Birthday Gift 2010
As I have mentioned before, it pays to sign up as a Sephora Beauty Insider. Each year, Sephora gives you a free gift for your birthday. You can pick up your gift in stores or get it online. Last year, it was a set of lip glosses.
My birthday came around at the end of March. Yeah, I didn’t really announce it on the blog. Why? I have no idea. I certainly celebrated it. All weekend in fact!
At the beginning of April, I ordered my Sephora shipment which included the free birthday gift. Due to reasons not known to me, it took about a month to get the package. Here’s what’s in store for birthday girls this year:

- Sephora Eye Shadow in Aspen Summit
- Sephora Nano Eye Pencil in Silver Green
- Sephora Lash Plumper Mascara in Black
Last year, I really liked the lip glosses. They worked well. This year: these products aren’t so great.
The eye shadow works well enough, but the liner and mascara leave something to be desired. The liner doesn’t go on very smoothly, which can be a problem with some pencil eye liners. The mascara wand bristles are so soft that it feels like I’m applying mascara with a feather. It makes it hard to get between each lash.
That being said, it’s free. There’s no reason not to take Sephora up on their offer. Free makeup is always awesome.

Believe it or not, I didn’t get my birthday gift from Sephora last year. I read somewhere that the lipgloss set caused some bad allergic reactions to some people. I never like Sephora mascara, it’s kind of weak and doesn’t do anything to me.

Really? I have really sensitive skin, and those lip glosses were no problem for me.
But that mascara really was a disappointment.
I’m sorry the mascara and eyeliner don’t work too well but at least they were free. I have that eyeshadow too and I kinda like it. It’s a nice shade and blends easily.

Yeah, the shadow shade is good. It works really well as a highlighter.
