What Do You Like Least About Nail Polish?
There are great nail polishes, and then there are those that…well…suck. And even the best polishes have their flaws. That’s why I ask you…
What do you hate about nail polish?
My answer? I hate it when I get a really bright, seemingly opaque nail polish only to find that it goes on sheer once I actually use it. That’s happened to me a few times recently.
I shouldn’t need to do 4 coats of a colored polish just to stop seeing the whites of my nails.
Also, nail polish needs to dry quicker. Some take forever, which makes them more prone to getting messed up.

Trisha, I hate when that happens too! I applied a Maybelline polish today that looked a beautiful shade of purple in the bottle but I had to apply 5 or 6 coats (I lost count after a while) and you can still the white on my nails! So frustrating! I also don’t like applying. It tooks too much time and I’m not very patient, plus I can’t help but move my hands after 5 minutes and always end up smudging it.

I hate that, too. But what I hate more is when nail polishes chip. I have a relatively good top coat and base coat but when nail polishes chip, especially dark ones, they annoy me. I want them to last, not to look ragged.
I hate when they use a really cheap bristled brush in the bottle. When you go to apply the polish, your color goes on all streaked, and no matter how you apply it, you have brush marks all over your nails, instead of having a pretty, flowing color on your nails!!
Gio: Yeah, I get my nail polish messed up too. I like to multitask, and I really don’t want to sit still for the 5 minutes it takes to dry.
Dao: Chipping! Exactly. For instance, OPI is a great brand, but when I use their polish for French manicures, it starts chipping just after a day or two. Not cool!
P Roberson: I’ve had that problem, too! I bought some super inexpensive polish at Ross once. The colors were great and they weren’t all sheer, but the bristles were cheap and not all the same length. Streak city.
I agree with sheer polishes. I don’t like them. Other than that I love polish and wear it all the time, maybe too much… it may be making my nails more prone to splitting!
I hate the wait time, I paint my nails, and go on the computer while i wait for them to dry. My nails aren’t long so it doesn’t mess up my nails typing. =D
FaithJ: Have you tried nail polish made to harden nails? That might help with splitting. OPI has a Natural Nail Strengthener that you might like.
Patricia M: I’ve been doing my nails at my computer a lot lately. Fotunately, the finish doesn’t get messed up, even with my long nails.
I hate when you paint your nails and get all these stupid air bubbles. It looks like my nails have acne. NOT COOL.
