I’m having one of those days where I want to be both comfortable and adorable. I threw on some comfy brown gaucho pants (those are still “in”, right?) and a light pink frilly ribbon tank top.

Now all I need is some pretty makeup.

I decided to use the Maybelline Eye Studio Eye Shadow quad in Mad for Mauve. (Did you know Mauve is actually pronounced “moe-v” with a long o, and not “maw-v”? It’s true.)

Here’s what I came up with:

It came out just a bit smokier than I wanted, and a bit darker than I wanted, but that’s okay. It still looks beautiful in the end.

These are the products and steps I used to achieve the look:

• Lined my eyes all the way around, including the lower water line, with Prestige Soft Blend Khol Eyeliner in Jet Black.
• Covered my entire lid with Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy so the colors would be vibrant.
• Applied the lightest color from the Maybelline Eye Studio Eye Shadow Mad for Mauve quad from the inside corner to about one-third across my lid, from the lash line up to above my crease.
• Applied the second lightest color to the rest of the lid, from lash line to above the crease.
• Applied the dark mauve/purple color just to the crease to smoke it up a bit and add dimension.
• Applied the green color on my lower lid from the outside corner and inward about 2 centimeters.
• Put on Cover Girl Exact Eyelights Mascara in Black Ruby on the upper and lower lashes.
• Used the Light 1 mineral foundation from the RAW Minerals Discovery Kit all over my face.
• Dusted some Prestige Blushing Duo Combination Blush and Highlighter in Hopsack on the apples of my cheeks and around my temples.
• Threw on some Avon Glazewear Lip Gloss in Intense Plum.

Whew! That’s a lot of steps! That’s practically a tutorial right there.

After work today, I plan to go for a walk around the neighborhood. It’s going to be over 80 degrees! Then, this weekend I plan to do a whole lot of relaxing.
