Get Soft With Z Mei Day and Night Moisturizers

One of the tasks given to us as women is to find the best moisturizer for our skin. Properly hydrated skin resists wrinkles and dry patches.

I recently received some Z Mei skin care products from Dao of My Makeup Blog through a giveaway. And now, of course, I want to review them for you, my beloved readers.

Z Mei skin products have been formulated by Dr. Janet Zand, a “clinical practitioner of natural medicine.” So, you’d think it would be super awesome.

Thus, it’s time to review Z Mei Replenishing Daily Moisturizer and Z Mei Regenerating Night Treatment, both used daily, day and night.

How do they smell?

Both the day and night moisturizers smell clean. Yes, they have a scent, but it’s not perfumey and it’s very light. Clean and slightly sweet. That’s the best way to describe it.

As most of you know, I’m sensitive to most fragrances, especially when it comes to my face. Luckily, these lotions didn’t make me break out.

What is the Replenishing Daily Moisturizer like?

ZMeiDayandNight02The daily moisturizer is thick, white and moisturizing.

While the packaging and the website say that it contains sunscreen, it doesn’t say how much. And since I can’t smell the sunscreen in the product (a scent you can never seem to avoid) I doubt it has much.

Important: this moisturizer is thick. I have a normal skin type and this was too thick for use in the summer. It was just too much moisture. But now that winter is here, it’s perfect. I’ll only be using this during the winter and switching back to thinner lotion in the summer.

What is the Regenerating Night Treatment like?

ZMeiDayandNight03The night treatment seems like a thicker version of the day moisturizer, but otherwise the same. It smells the same, it feels the same, it just does a better job moisturizing.

Also, this one doesn’t have sunscreen, which makes sense.

Just like the daily moisturizer, I’m only able to wear this in the winter.

Do they moisturize well?

Yes. They are very nice. Now that I’m in dry winter air, the Z Mei day and night moisturizers do a good job at keeping my skin soft, which is good since my apartment is very dry, even with a humidifier running full blast.

If you have dry skin, I recommend this all year ‘round. If you have normal skin, use it in the winter. If you have oily skin, it would be best to avoid this all together. It’s just not the thing for you.

The Final Verdict

The only people who can use the Z Mei Replenishing Moisturizer and Regenerating Night Treatment all year are those with dry skin. That’s a shame, especially for my normal skin type. Still, this is a very moisturizing day and night duo that has a nice, delicate smell. It also doesn’t hurt my sensitive skin. For these reasons, I give the Z Mei Day and Night moisturizers a collective…

B+

You can buy these moisturizers at the Z Mei online store. The Replenishing Daily Moisturizer and the Regenerating Night Treatment retail for $39.95 each.

  1. Thanks for the review. These moisturizers sound really nice but I have combination skin so I don’t think they’ll work too well for me.

  2. I love them during those colder times as well. I use a tiny bit and thin the cream out with the toner. I think the SPF for the day cream is 15, which isn’t that much since I use a tiny bit.

  3. Like you, I probably wouldn’t be able to use them year-round. These sound so nice for winter, though *grr I hate those icky dry patches that start cropping up*

  4. as a new user of Made from Earth skin products, I will say so far I like their Olive Night Creme. In the winter I need a moisture, but I use organic oils as well…

This night cream is nice and thick, but not greasy with a light natural aroma. It has even helped to reduce the appearance of wrinkles on my forehead.
