Hard Candy Hide & Glow Cheek Swatches in Hot Date

I hope you had an awesome holiday. I did!

Among other things, I went on a crazy shopping spree on the day after Christmas. (Or, I intended to, anyway. There weren’t as many good deals as last year.)

Whenever I go to Wal-Mart (which is very rare, I’m not a fan of that place), I go straight to the makeup section since it’s the only place in town that sells Hard Candy.

Of course, I walked out with something.

I picked up the Hard Candy Hide & Glow Cheek in Hot Date. It’s a cheek tint duo in two awesome colors.

HCHideNGlowCheek02Hot Date has a rosy reddish-pink cheek tint on one end…

HCHideNGlowCheek03…and a brownish-reddish-purple cheek tint on the other end.

If you judge it by the packaging, you’ll probably think it’s super pigmented just like I did. When you see the swatches, you’ll realize that’s not the case.

HCHideNGlowCheek04Here’s the rosy reddish-pink. When blended, it barely shows up. Which may be a good thing if you have very fair skin. If you want it to show up more, you can layer it or not blend it as much as I did.

HCHideNGlowCheek05The brownish-reddish-purple tint is a bit more noticeable.

The consistency of this cheek tint is slightly oily, slightly moist, and easily blended. It’s a good blush choice for people with dry skin as it won’t dry you out  like a powder blush would.

It’s also good for adding a dewy blush look.

If you buy one of these, just remember that it’s not as pigmented as it looks in the packaging (which is good for most uses of cheek tint and blush anyway.)

You can pick up Hard Candy Hide & Glow Cheek at Wal-Mart and wherever else Hard Candy is sold. I bought it for $6, but it usually sells for $6.99.

  1. It seems like Hard Candy is coming out with some of the best bargain makeup lately. The color is really cute! You should do an FOTD with this :)

  2. Thanks! Good idea about using this for an FOTD. I just might!

  3. I think cheek tints are better in sheer texture. If they are more pigmented, you will have problem blending them out. Tints also tend to dry faster than blush cremes, btw. I love how Hard Candy packages their products. They are the cutest products in the drugstore.
