Face of the Day: Snow Storms and First Drafts

Some of my fellow Americans are in a super big snow storm right now. I mean, super big. While I live in the ‘great white north,’ this blizzard hit my area a few days ago and is long gone.

Still, today’s makeup is inspired by the mounds of snow and ice covering most of the country.

Not only am I covered in a slouchy-necked sweater, I also have some serious icy blue makeup going on.

Face-wise, I’ve dusted some Pixi Lumi Lux Radiance Powder over my face. I’ve also got Wet N Wild Natural Blend Lip Shimmer on my lips in Berry.

Here’s a close-up of the eyes so you can delve right into the ice:

I started with the primer from the NYC IndividualEyes Custom Compact. Here’s the eye shadows I used:

Also, I used Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Black Blue to line my eyes and Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara in Glam Black on the top and bottom lashes.

I have a hard time pulling off blue eye shadow, but I think it looks really good today. So icy!

Smile with tongue out

On an unrelated note, I have begun the first round of rewrites and edits on the novel first draft that I completed last October.

These are my own personal edits. I don’t have a publisher yet.

Check out this stack of novel pages:

AYfirstdraftSo much work to do!

It’s a contemporary romance/women’s fiction novel. Hopefully you’ll all get to read it some day.

Have a beautiful afternoon! Even if you’re in the snow storm.

  1. Love the makeup, it’s icy, winter and beautiful!

Congrats on finishing the frist draft and good luck with the editing. I hope you’ll find a publisher soon. 🙂

  2. OMG congrats on writing that much! I don’t have that much self-discipline, I think I get up to 20 pages and then I get bored w/ it. Hopefully, we’ll all be reading that one day 🙂 Love the makeup look btw! Totally reminds me of snow

  3. Gio: Thanks! I hope I find a publisher soon, too. I’m going to start looking once I’ve done several passes at editing.

MM: Aww, you’re so sweet. Self-discipline is tough. Maybe you should try National Novel Writing Month (http://www.nanowrimo.org/) this year. It’s in November. Might help you get to page 21. 😉
