Earthly Elements Hawaiian Ginger Normal to Oily Balancing Shampoo and Conditioner Review
If you’re a regular Makeup Files reader, you know my plight when it comes to my Day-2 hair. Basically, while my hair looks great the day I wash it, it becomes a greasy snarled mess the next day. I’ve never been able to find a way to make it look remotely good. While dry shampoos work well with my straightened bangs, they aren’t as good for the rest of my curly hair. Especially since it’s hard to de-snarl my already crapped out day-2 curls.
Just keep that in mind, because it’ll be important later in this review.
A review? Yep! For Earthly Elements Hawaiian Ginger Normal to Oily Balancing Shampoo and Conditioner.
What makes it different?
Earthly Elements is special for a few reasons.
- Contains all natural ingredients.
- Doesn’t contain parabens, silicones, artificial fragrances, SLS, glycols, phthalates, EDTA or petroleum.
- No animal testing.
- 100% Vegan, 100% Gluten-free
Pretty snazzy, huh? So, if you care a lot about the ingredients in the stuff you buy, this is for you.
Also, each bottle of Earthly Elements (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, everything) comes with a free charm.
How does it smell?
Scent is a big deal. Since it’s going all over my head, shampoos and conditioners need to smell nice.
Luckily, that’s the case with the Earthly Elements Hawaiian Ginger Shampoo and Conditioner. That “Hawaiian ginger” sure is accurate. It smells just like sweet ginger ale soda. I’m serious. Just like it. It was so good. Not perfumey at all.
The scent is delicate, so you can’t smell it too much once out of the shower and your hair is dry. It leaves a very light sweet scent. Frankly, I like the scent so much I wouldn’t have minded if it was a lot stronger.
How well does it work?
Remember what I said about the plight that is my day-2 hair?
Well…Earthly Elements caught me off-guard. I wasn’t expecting what happened.
The day I washed it, my hair felt nice. It wasn’t any less oily than it normally is, despite the “Normal to Oily” designation on the bottle. But that’s not too weird since my hair isn’t oily the first day.
I woke up the next day, and it took me a good hour before I realized what my hair was like. Not only was it not as snarled as it normally is on day 2, it wasn’t at all greasy.
You can imagine my surprise. I really wasn’t expecting that.
I thought it might be a fluke. So, I gave myself another 2 weeks to try Earthly Elements Hawaiian Ginger Normal to Oily Shampoo and Conditioner.
And it happened again. Every time. My hair is much MUCH MUCH better on the second day.
I don’t see how I could use any other shampoo/conditioner ever again. Especially because I don’t know why. Is it the lack of parabens and other junk? Is it the higher quality in general? Is it the “normal to oily” or the “balancing” aspects?
All I can say is: “OMG.”
The Final Verdict
I am so floored at how this shampoo and conditioner made my day-2 hair look good. I mean, I’ve tried so many different products to make my hair look better, and this is the only thing that’s worked this well. And taking the great scent into account and the overall healthy ingredients, I have to give the Earthly Elements Hawaiian Ginger Normal to Oily Balancing Shampoo and Conditioner a…
