Nutrisystem Nation Week 6 Results and Romantic Comedies

And time marches forward. More like, it races forward.

I feel like I just wrote my week 5 results post, but that was a whole week ago. Man, it’s awesome for time to go by so fast when you’re dieting. Then it’s, you know, awesome.

nutrisystemLogoI’ve now been on Nutrisystem for 6 weeks. I’ve been really good about staying “on plan.” I drink my water, eat my food, and avoid all of the lovely things I’d rather be eating. But, eating those things got me into this mess in the first place. I don’t need ‘em.

I’m in a weird mood today. I’ve been thinking a lot about romance and love recently. Mostly because I’ve had a total lack of both for quite a while.

Yesterday I saw Something Borrowed with Ginnifer Goodwin and the ever-handsome John Krasinski (to name a few). It was good. I snuck my Nutrisystem dessert, the Thin Mint Crisp Bar, into the theater. Then I got home and watched The Truth About Cats and Dogs.

So, it got me thinking about romantic comedies. Along with horror movies, romantic comedies (or, romance in general, really) are my favorite movie genres. But, the thing is, it feels like I own every romantic comedy ever made. But I want more!

My request to you: recommend me some awesome romantic comedies!

As you can see, I have a lot:

Yeah, that’s just the “chick flick” shelf, though I hate that term. I have too many of these to list here.

Here’s some I don’t own, but that are definitely on my list to buy eventually:

So, what does this have to do with weight loss and Nutrisystem? Not a darn thing.

Today’s a weigh in day!

week06I lost 1.6 pounds this week! That brings my total, over 6 weeks, to…19.6 pounds lost. That’s right, I ended up just under 20 pounds. I’ll get there soon!

Next week’s weigh in might come Tuesday instead of Monday. I’ll be at a local science fiction convention (nerd!) that goes into Monday. So, look for my Nutrisystem post next Tuesday, if not Monday.

Here’s my progress so far:

  • Week 1: –6.4 pounds
  • Week 2: –2.4 pounds (-8.8 total)
  • Week 3: –3.8 pounds (-12.6 total)
  • Week 4: –2.4 pounds (-15.0 total)
  • Week 5: –3.0 pounds (-18.0 total)
  • Week 6: -1.6 pounds (-19.6 total)

Have a great week! And, again, I implore you to recommend me some romantic comedies. It’s all I can think about right now.

  1. I’m not sure if your into “foreign movies” you know, the ones with subtitles, lol. BUT if you wanna try something new out, check out “The Classic”. Its a Korean movie, romance, drama, and I find it to be my #1 Romantic movie, and I LIVE for those type of movies :)

And congrats! Almost 20lb. gone! I can’t wait to hit that milestone! :)

  2. Congrats Trisha, you’re almost at the finish line! I really enjoyed Easy A, but my favorite rom-coms are usually the classics. Like Roman Holiday! I love that movie.

  3. Congrats on the weight loss! If you like witty comedy, I would suggest “It’s Complicated.” I also love “The Holidays.” It’s from the same screenwriter/director/producer. What else? “Sleepless in Seattle” and “The Time Traveler’s Wife.” Those are nice romantic movies. You see, I don’t like rom-com that much but once in a while when I feel down, I watch them :)

    • I just saw “It’s Complicated” the other day. I thought it was okay (Meryl Streep is always a great actress) but all the cheating made me uncomfortable. Though, the ending was definitely the right way to go.

      And John Krasinski! Mmmm

  4. Yay Trisha! You are doing so great on the Nutrisystem Plan awesome job. One of my favorites is The Way We were. Robert Redford and Barbara Striesand. I’m not sure about the comedy part but definately romance.
Keep up the great work, you are inspiring.
