Nutrisystem Nation Week 14 Results and Biscuits and Gravy
The weeks keep ticking on by. I’ve been on Nutrisystem for 14 weeks. It sounds like a long time, and I certainly have the weight loss to show for it.
But before I get into this week’s weigh-in, I wanted to tell you about a new food in the Nutrisystem arsenal.
See, on rare occasions, NS will add a new food to their list. I started hearing about this new breakfast food, Southern-Style Biscuits and Gravy, about a month after I started on Nutrisystem. I finally ordered it in my last shipment and had the privilege to try it out recently.
After all, biscuits and gravy is a traditional southern breakfast food that’s typically way too high in calories to eat when you want to lose weight. And look at the picture from Nutrisystem:
Looks good, right?
At first glance at the packaging, I thought it might not be so good, though. It comes in two packets of powder. One for the biscuits and one for the gravy. And you just add water to each powder and cook them separately in the microwave. Then pour the gravy on the biscuit.
I don’t know about you, but stuff baked in a microwave usually doesn’t turn out too well.
But, I set aside my preconceptions and mixed it up. I was pleasantly surprised.
The biscuit was fluffy and not nearly as dense as I expected. The gravy tasted just like something you’d get at a diner and it even had little bits of sausage in it.
Oh yes, I was happy.
I’ll definitely order it again.
