Nutrisystem Nation Week 27 Results and Another Milestone Reached

Good morning! I feel like throwing on some cozy pajamas and climbing back into bed. Hibernate under the comfort of my pink faux-down comforter. How about you?

Well, I reached another Nutrisystem weight-loss milestone today!

Before I tell you about the milestone, though, I wanted to explain what my goal weight is. After all, goal weight is pretty different for everyone.


How I picked my goal weight…

Some people have a goal weight in mind based on where they were previously. Like a pre-pregnancy weight or how much they weighed when they were skinny in high school.

The problem for me: I’ve never been skinny. At least not as an adult or teenager. Not even as a pre-teen, I don’t think.

So, I can’t choose a goal weight based on my own experience. I went with medical standards instead.

For ideal weight and BMI calculators, most say that someone at my height (5’6”), should weigh between 115 and 155 pounds. I decided to aim for right in the middle of that range:

My Goal Weight: 135 pounds.

When I started Nutrisystem back on April 11th, I weighed 255.6 pounds. That means, throughout this whole process, I’d need to lose 120.6 pounds total to get to my goal weight of 135 pounds. That’s an entire person!

But I’m open to something different…

Along with “ideal weight” or “goal weight” you also hear a lot about “happy weight.” That’s the weight you end up where you like the way you look and fee, you’re healthy, and you don’t feel like you have to struggle to keep it up.

Like I said, I’ve never been anywhere near my goal weight. 135 is like an imaginary number to me. As I get close to that number, I’ll reevaluate my goal. Maybe 135 is too low for me. Maybe too high. I’ll see when I get there.

What about that milestone?

Oh, right, the weigh-in. I almost forgot.

I lost 2.2 pounds this week! That brings my total, over 27 weeks, to…61.4 pounds lost!

Remember I originally had 120.6 pounds to lose? Well, with this 61.4 pounds gone, I have 59.2 pounds to go.

I’m halfway to goal!!!! I’ve lost half of the weight I wanted to lose!!! Milestone achieved.

Yeah, that’s a big deal. Open-mouthed smile

Here’s my progress over the last 27 weeks.

  • Week 3: –3.8 pounds (-12.6 total)
  • Week 4: –2.4 pounds (-15.0 total)

  • Week 6: –1.6 pounds (-19.6 total)
  • Week 7: –3.4 pounds (-23.0 total)
  • Week 8: –1.0 pounds (-24.0 total)
  • Week 9: –2.6 pounds (-26.6 total)
  • Week 10: –3.4 pounds (-30.0 total)
  • Week 11: –0.6 pounds (-30.6 total)
  • Week 12: –4.2 pounds (-34.8 total)
  • Week 13: –1.0 pounds (-35.8 total)
  • Week 14: –1.8 pounds (-37.6 total)
  • Week 15: –3.0 pounds (-40.6 total)
  • Week 16: –1.2 pounds (-41.8 total)
  • Week 17: –2.8 pounds (-44.6 total)
  • Week 18: +0.8 pounds (-43.8 total)
  • Week 19: –2.6 pounds (-46.4 total)
  • Week 20: –1.4 pounds (-47.8 total)
  • Week 21: –1.6 pounds (-49.4 total)
  • Week 22: –3.4 pounds (-52.8 total)
  • Week 23: –2.6 pounds (-55.4 total)
  • Week 24: –0.6 pounds (-56.0 total)
  • Week 25: –1.8 pounds (-57.8 total)
  • Week 26: –1.4 pounds (-59.2 total)
  • Week 27: –2.2 pounds (-61.4 total)
