Nutrisystem Nation Week 37 Results and Nutribear 70 Photostory

Last week I made a prediction. Since this past week featured three different holidays, I pretty much knew I was going to gain for today’s weigh-in.

You can see if I was right at the end of this post. But, before that, you need to meet a new member of the family: Nutribear 70!

Welcome Nutribear 70, Willpower

Nutrisystem sends out Nutribears for every ten pounds you lose (up to 100. Then it’s every 25 pounds). So far, you’ve met Pound, Commitment, Community, Determination, Encouragement and Focus.

Since I surpassed 70 pounds lost a few weeks ago, I got to welcome Nutribear 70 into the family. Her name is Willpower, and she arrived just in time to celebrate the holidays.

NB70-01First, she visited Apartment Gnome. He had his area decorated with a little pink tree. Willpower was impressed.

NB70-02Then she visited Pound and Encouragement at their favorite tree: the bedroom tree. It’s a 3 foot pink tree I keep in my bedroom, hence the name.

But then Willpower was a bit worn out from all the socializing. I let her hang out on the mantel for some “alone time.”

Over the holidays, Willpower also hung out around the big Christmas tree (not pictured) with all of the other Nutribears. They all had a good time, me and Apartment Gnome included.

It’s time to weigh-in.

So…yeah. I weighed myself. This is the result.

week37I gained 2.6 pounds this week. That means I’ve lost a total of 69.8 pounds in 37 weeks.

Even though I knew this was going to happen, I still felt pretty bad about it. I told my mom my concerns, and she said something that cheered me up. I don’t know where she got her statistics, but this is what she said:

“People gain 5 pounds on average from Thanksgiving to Christmas, and overweight people gain 15 pounds in that time. So, you’re doing pretty good.”

And, you know, it’s true. Right before Thanksgiving, I weighed 188.4 pounds. Today I weighed 185.8. That means I actually lost 2.6 pounds over the holidays, including this week’s gain. Not too shabby! I did better than most people, so now I don’t feel so bad.

But, I’m glad that there aren’t any more holidays for a few months now. No excuses.

  1. I think it’s normal to gain some weight during the holidays, so don’t worry about that. You are doing so well and should be proud of yourself.

  2. Yay, you’re doing great! Willpower is so cute and I’m glad the other bears like her as well. It’s normal to gain a little during the holiday season but what matters more is you are willing to keep it off. Great job, Trisha!
