Nutrisystem Nation Week 62 and C25K Graduation

Since I started on Nutrisystem, I’ve found that I really hate holidays that fall on a Sunday. Why? Because my weigh-ins happen the next day. Even if I didn’t go over in calories for that holiday, if that amount of food I ate was heavier, it’ll make me heavier for the weigh-in. Sure enough, a few days later I’ll be right as rain again. But, because my weigh-ins are on Mondays, I always look bad after holidays.

I say this because yesterday was Father’s Day. There was a barbecue. I ate food. I didn’t go crazy, but there is some serious déjà vu going on in this post that reminds me of my weigh-in after Easter.

I’m a C25K graduate!

Have you heard of C25K? It’s short for “couch to 5K” and it’s a running program to get you from never running to being able to run for 30 minutes straight.

The program is nine weeks long, each run getting harder and harder.

Guess what? I just completed it!

That’s right: I just completed the ninth and final week of C25K. Last week, I had three running sessions, each where I ran for 30 minutes straight. How awesome is that?!

Also, I looked up how many calories that burns, and, for my height and weight, that’s 400 calories burned per 30-minute running session. Nice!

It feels great accomplishing something like that. I’d tried doing the program once before (which I mentioned in How to Look Cute While Jogging) but I’d only gotten to week 4.

I’m a winner!

What’s next for me? I have my first 5K race coming up in a few weeks. I’m going to keep running until then, working on my speed. You’ll hear all about the race in my Nutrisystem post exactly three weeks from today.

Then after that? I’m still going to run sometimes, but I’m thinking of doing P90X. My pal Dao of My Makeup Blog swears by it, and I trust her immensely.

Shall we weigh in?

So…this is what the scale says:

week62I gained 3.4 pounds this week. That means I’ve lost 89.2 pounds total in 62 weeks.

Total déjà vu. That’s exactly how much I gained for the weigh-in after Easter. Darn you, Father’s Day!

I’m not worried. Just like with Easter, I’ll bounce right back. Just you watch: next weigh-in’s going to be great. Plus, I can’t be all that upset. I finished Couch to 5K!
