Nails of the Day: Subtly French Plum
It’s been a while since I’ve had an NOTD post!
I’ve just been having far too much fun in the nice weather to worry about my nails. Until now.
I mean, how could I resist doing a cute nail look for this long? This is what I came up with:
I call it Subtly French Plum. Why? Well, the plum is obvious. Look at all that purple!
As you can see close up though, there’s a bit of French manicure action. No, that light colored portion isn’t my nail showing through. It’s actually a light pink, sheer polish creating a French tip.
I used Wet N Wild MegaLast nail polish in Clear Top Coat as a base and top coat and Through the Grapevine as the main purple color. Then I did the French tip in one thin coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear nail polish in Twisted Pink.
The result is that faint, almost ghostly French tip. I thought about doing another layer of the pink, but I thought the subtlety was cool enough with just one coat.
What do you think? Is it too subtle?

Looks good Trisha. I enjoy seeing the different nail looks
Thanks! I have to say, I’m most inspired by other people’s nails, so it makes me happy that I can do the same for others.
Ooh I love this subtle French version…would love to try this out!

I’m glad it looks modern! I think I often straddle the line between “modern” and “totally ’80s.” It’s a fine line.
