Smell the Roses With Jurlique Rose Moisture Plus

If you don’t like the smell of roses, I’ll tell you right now that you won’t like Jurlique’s Rose Moisture Plus collection. Then again, if you’re like me and don’t mind your face smelling like a rose garden, you might want to hear about it.

The collection comes with a cleanser, moisturizer and toning mist. Of the collection, I got to try:

jurlique02The Moisturising Cleanser worked really well at cleaning my face. Keep in mind that it says “avoid the eye area.” This isn’t for getting rid of your eye makeup—you’ll need a makeup remover for that.

Trust me, if you use it on your eyes, it will sting. Luckily, that sting goes away quickly when you rinse. (Yes, I ignored the directions.)

As for the scent, it was very fragrant and rosy. It smelled like a fresh rose garden with a hint of a citronella candle (I love the smell of citronella candles.)

Luckily for me, the scent was purely rose, and didn’t have a harsh perfumey or artificial scent to it. I would have hated it if that was the case.

jurlique03The Rosewater Balancing Mist is super refreshing.

Although the second ingredient is alcohol, I would have never known. It didn’t smell like alcohol and it didn’t dry out my skin. Instead, it left my skin feeling fresh and just slightly moisturized.

The scent had that nice fresh, non-perfumey rose fragrance. The rose scent was purer in this than the cleanser and didn’t have that very slight citronella scent along with it.

The Final Verdict

The cleanser worked well and the balancing mist left me refreshed. Keep in mind that the rose scent in each is pretty strong. While it didn’t irritate my fragrance-sensitive skin, it was a very noticeable scent. If you don’t want to smell strongly of rose, then this isn’t for you. For me, I loved going to bed at night smelling of roses. It was a treat!
