The New Luminous Clean Cleanser Collection From Pond’s
I’m always looking for new great cleansers. After all, your nighttime skincare routine should always include removing your makeup and washing your face. That’s Beauty 101!
When I heard that Pond’s was coming out with a new line of cleansers, I was pretty excited—and not just because it uses a pink color scheme. Pond’s is an affordable, though high-quality, drugstore brand. If they can make a good cleanser, I’ll be happy.
There are three products in the new Pond’s Luminous Clean line:
- Pond’s Luminous Clean Cream Cleanser ($5.79)
- Pond’s Luminous Clean Wet Cleansing Towelettes ($4.99 for a 30-pack)
- Pond’s Luminous Clean Daily Exfoliating Cleaner ($5.79)
All three products have the same scent. Pond’s describes it as having notes of bergamot, orange, peach and rose. My impression was more “rose and grapefruit.”
Since I don’t normally like fragrance in my face products (my skin is really sensitive), I was worried when I smelled just how strong it was. Fortunately, the scent is toned down once the cleansers are rinsed or you’re done using the towelettes. It’s barely noticeable then. (Yay!)
The Wet Cleansing Towelettes are my favorite. Wipes are so much easier to deal with. You just wipe them on your face and you’re done. These towelettes have ridges that totally remind me of a paper towel commercial—but that’s a good thing! They exfoliate better than most cleansing wipes, so they easily remove dirt and makeup.
The Cream Cleanser is your typical facial cleanser. You get your face wet, massage the cleanser into your skin, and rinse. I was super impressed by how easily it cleaned my face. Sometimes I need to rinse and repeat with a cleanser. Not this time.
The Daily Exfoliating Cleanser is a bit unexpected. If you’ve ever used an exfoliator, you know that they’re often too harsh to use every other day, let alone daily. I was skeptical until I actually tried it. The microbeads in this cleanser are small enough not to be too harsh on skin. I can definitely see using this every day.
As you might suspect by the name, the Luminous Clean collection is supposed to make your skin brighter. I didn’t really notice much of a difference, personally, but my skin tends to be bright already. You might see better results.
The Final Verdict
While my skin didn’t come out super bright and the flowery/citrusy scent was kind of strong, I really liked all three of Pond’s new Luminous Clean cleansers. Each one is good for a different occasion, whether you want something normal, exfoliating or super easy. And the pink is certainly adorable! For these reasons, I give the new Luminous Clean collection a…
