Let’s Meet the MAKE Cosmetics Line from the We See Beauty Foundation

Ahh, new cosmetics lines. They make us tear our eyes away from our tried-and-true makeup to see what can come from new ideas and innovations.

That’s the idea, anyway.

The We See Beauty Foundation, a non-profit organization that’s “dedicated to incubate and accelerate women-led, worker owned cooperatives” has come out with a line of cosmetics called MAKE. And a third of the proceeds go directly to the organization.

Let’s meet these new products!

make01First up, the packaging. I have to admit: I love it. Normally, I’m a sucker for the prettier, girlier packaging, but there’s something about this minimalistic approach that I really like.

Plus, the MAKE logo, as you’ll see on the products, uses a thin font that totally reminds me of the font from the Men in Black movies. And I love those movies. I <3 Agent J.

make02MAKE has a bunch of different products. Their Soft Focus Foundation ($32.50) is a pump-action liquid foundation. It blends in pretty well and has a glow to it. Just make sure you get the right shade.

make03Look at that fancy lipstick. The Silk Cream Lipstick ($18), in Cameo above, is super pigmented. It doesn’t soak into the lips as well as I’d like and can look streaky, but it’s hydrating and not drying.

make04The real stars of the MAKE line are the eye shadows. And, frankly, eye shadows are a good test of the quality of a makeup line.

These shadows are nicely pigmented, blend well and last all day. Triple threats! Above, I tried the Matte Finish Eyeshadow ($18) in Purple Congo and Satin Finish Eyeshadow ($18) in Santa Fe.

make05And here they are in action! So pretty. I used Purple Congo near the outer part of my lid and Santa Fe on the rest. Yeah, I’m impressed.

What do you think?

You can pick up anything from the MAKE beauty line at the We See Beauty website.

  2. I’m always apprehensive about trying new makeup. Its nice to have you trying it first and then showing it to us. I agree with you on the packaging, I like it too.The eyeshadow looks good too. Lots of color in those two shades.
