New York Streets Dry Shampoo Review: Prepare to Be Disappointed
I love dry shampoo. It’s a powdery hair product, usually sprayed from a can, that can make your greasy, unwashed hair look and feel soft and clean. I went into my New York Streets Dry Shampoo review with all the hope I normally have when it comes to dry shampoo.
But does it hold up to any of the other dry shampoos I’ve tried?
New York Streets is a beauty brand, focused mostly on hair products, aimed at cool, edgy kids. You can tell by the graffiti-style art on the can. It’s everything I imagine about New York City. Based on TV and movies, of course.
However…I had to spray a ton of it on my bangs before enough of the powder came out to actually do its job. It just wasn’t strong enough.
I sprayed for a while, then thought, “this has to be enough!” and stopped. I brushed my bangs, which is the usual second step to dry shampoo, and they still felt greasy. With a sigh, I sprayed some more and it finally started to work.
To put it in perspective, I had to spray it about 10 times longer than I did the Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo. That isn’t an exaggeration.
Not only is that annoying, but it’ll make me go through that big can a lot quicker.
It smells like a mix of baby powder and musky perfume. Even if I liked the scent, and I don’t, it was still way too strong to be acceptable. Considering how much I had to spray of it to get it to work, my head was in a thick cloud of this scent.
