Face of the Day: Purple Tropics Eye Shadow Look
Sometimes I have a really hard time naming my FOTDs. This one uses purple, blue and green for a soft and smoky look. So, what should I name it?
How about…Purple Tropics?
Want to see it in action? Here we go.
Face-wise, I’ve got the Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation making a cameo around my eyes and on my nose.
My lips are bare because that’s how I do.
I’m not sure what I’m looking at in this picture, but I’m probably giving it a wry smile for a very good reason. That thing off-camera is so silly…
Let’s go color-by-color, shall we?
- Light beige at the inner corner and eyebrow arch: MAKE Glitter Eyeshadow in Alabaster
- Purple shade in the crease: MAKE Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Purple Congo
- Blue shade at the middle of the lid and green shade near the inside corner: NYX 5 Color Shadow The Caribbean Collection in I Dream of St. Lucia
I also used butter LONDON Bespoke Colour Collection WINK Eye Pencil in Union Jack Black and NYX Doll Eye Volume Mascara to complete the look.
I have to admit, I really like this look. I’ll be doing it again. You can bet on it.
Want to see a video tutorial of this look?
You might have noticed that I’ve been posting more videos on the Makeup Files YouTube channel lately. I’ve got a new video camera and I’m excited to make new videos.
Speaking of which, would you want to see today’s FOTD, Purple Tropics, as a video tutorial? Or maybe you have a different idea of what you want to see from a Makeup Files video? Perhaps makeup how-tos or product reviews?
Let me know in the comments! I’m definitely taking requests.
