Face of the Day: Subtly Colorful and a Dash of Gold
I’ve been wearing some super bold eye makeup lately. I’ve been testing out the Sigma Beauty Crème de Couture palette in preparation for an awesome upcoming Makeup Files post.
But, sometimes you need a break. Recover from all the bold makeup. Today, I’ve done a subtly colorful eye makeup look using the new (to me) Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box I recently highlighted in my Mall of America Makeup Haul video. While it’s subtle, it’s still colorful and fun!
On my face, I’ve got the Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation. I’m almost out of it, and that makes me sad. Just keep thinking about pumpkin pie, Trisha…
From the Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box palette, I used…
- Scratch, a muted pink shade over the lid and up above the crease.
- Peace, a bright blue shade along the upper lash line.
- Honey, a great gold shade along the lower lash line and at the inner corner of the eye.
I didn’t use an eye shadow base/primer, since I wanted the look to be soft and subtle.
Honestly, I like it. In fact, I think I’ll be adding that Honey gold shade at the inside corner of my eye for other looks, too. I like that it adds a dash of glamour and awesomeness. Who wouldn’t want that?
What do you think? Would you rock this subtly colorful eye makeup look?
Have you been watching Sleepy Hollow?
Have you caught the new show on Fox, Sleepy Hollow? It’s about Ichabod Crane waking up 250 years after the Revolutionary War and into the present, having to fight the headless horseman all over again while being totally baffled by cars and electricity.
It’s pretty great! Also, it has John Cho (of Harold and Kumar) and I’ve always loved that guy. So hot. The show’s only a few episodes in, so you still have time to catch up.
I hope it survives its first season unscathed!
