How to Make Your Lipstick Last Longer – FAST!

Have you ever found a really great shade of lipstick, but were bummed by the fact that it faded off your lips so quickly? It would come off on your glass or food—and you’d be bare-lipped within the hour.

How to Make Your Lipstick Last LongerWell, I’ve had that problem before. It’s one of the reasons why I usually avoided wearing lipstick!

Fortunately, there’s a way to make your lipstick last longer super quickly. With just a few steps and a few extra items your lipstick can last all day—and you don’t have to spend a bunch of time doing it!

Making Your Lipstick Last Longer: The Video Tutorial

All you’ll need is…

  • Lipstick
  • A large floppy round makeup brush
  • Loose, matte translucent powder

You probably already have these things in your makeup kit.

Wondering how to use those things? Then check out the video tutorial!

If you can’t watch the video for whatever reason, here’s what you do:

  1. Put on lipstick.
  2. Swirl the large round makeup brush in translucent powder.
  3. Dab on your lips.

See? It really is fast. You add just one extra step to your routine in order to make your lipstick last longer.

This way, it doesn’t come off as easily on food, drinks or people. You would think that the powder would add a powdery cast to the lipstick, but it doesn’t! You just rub your lips together and it looks like it always does: beautifully pigmented and awesome.

Have you tried this technique?

Have you used loose powder to set your lipstick before? Did you like the method and would you try it again?

If you haven’t used this technique, you should totally try it next time you wear lipstick. Then come back and tell me how it went. Spare no gory details!

Let’s chat about it in the comments!

  1. This is a great tip 🙂 What I usually do is just apply lipstick, blot with a napkin, and apply again. Triples the wear.

  2. I never thought of that. I have to try it and see how it works when I drink my coffee:)

  3. great tip! definitely trying this!

  4. This is a great tip! I usually do that for special occasions, but I’m too lazy to do it daily lol.

  5. I do something similar .. apply lipstick, blot with tissue, dust with powder and re-apply. I only do this for an evening out or event. For every day, I’m far to lazy.
