9 Ways to Wear the Urban Decay Electric Palette

Have you heard about the Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette? It’s the talk of the town here in the beauty world. You’ll understand why when you see the shades…

Are you wondering why it’s called a “Pressed Pigment Palette,” and not an eye shadow palette? That’s because the Electric Palette comes with this little warning:

“WARNING: Slowburn, Savage, Jilted and Urban are not intended for immediate eye area.”

I don’t know why they say this (there’s some speculation that it has to do with ingredients that aren’t yet FDA-approved), but, I was totally rebellious and used these shades around my eyes anyway.

So, you may have looked at this palette and thought: “I have no idea how to use these shades” or “This is way too bold for me.”

Lucky for you, I tried out a whole bunch of looks and came up with 9 ways to wear the Urban Decay Electric Palette!

9 Ways to Wear the Urban Decay Electric PaletteAs you can see, some looks are super bold and bright. Others are more subtle and understated. It’s true, you can do anything with this palette. Let’s take a look at each individual look!

Green Eggs and Glam

9 Ways to Wear the Urban Decay Electric Palette: Green Eggs and GlamThis look would have been perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.

Shades used: Thrash, Freak, Fringe and Gonzo

Other products used: NYX Eyeshadow Base in White, the kohl eyeliner from the Physicans Formula Ooh La La Sexy Eyes Trio and Physicians Formula Va Va Voom Volume Mascara.

Back to the ‘80s

9 Ways to Wear the Urban Decay Electric Palette: Back to the 80sThis look totally makes me think of the eye shadow looks from the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. I realize that some of my readers weren’t even alive then, and that makes me feel old.

Back to the ‘80s features all four WARNING shades I wasn’t supposed to use around my eyes. I’m such a rebel…

Shades used: Savage, Slowburn, Jilted and Urban

Other products used: Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Lust and CK One Mascara.

Blueberry Chill

9 Ways to Wear the Urban Decay Electric Palette: Blueberry ChillLooking for something smoky and bright at the same time? You get it with Blueberry Chill.

Shades used: Chaos, Revolt and Urban

Other products used: NYX Eyeshadow Base in White, the felt-tip liner from the Physicians Formula Ooh La La Sexy Eyes Trio and Ulta Voluptuous Volume Mascara.

Pink for Days

9 Ways to Wear the Urban Decay Electric Palette: Pink for DaysPink is my favorite color, so why not do a look with some seriously bold pink?

Shades used: Jilted, Savage and Revolt.

Other products used: Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden, Gorgeous Cosmetics iINK Liquid Eye Pencil and Physicians Formula Va Va Voom Volume Mascara.

On the Line

9 Ways to Wear the Urban Decay Electric Palette: On the LineThe day I created this look, I was going for a nighttime run with my half-marathon training group. Obviously, I didn’t want to wear a bunch of makeup. So, I created this line by applying the pigments wet like an eyeliner.

Shades used: Fringe and Freak.

Other products used: Wet N Wild Mega Protein Mascara in Very Black

Fruit Basket

9 Ways to Wear the Urban Decay Electric Palette: Fruit BasketI couldn’t resist doing something weird. Why stay in the same color family when you can add a pop up lime green to your oranges and purples? It definitely makes a statement.

Shades used: Thrash, Slowburn and Jilted.

Other products used: NYX Eyeshadow Base in White, the kohl liner from the Physicians Formula Ooh La La Sexy Eyes Trio and Physicans Formula Va Va Voom Volume Mascara.

Urban Tropics

9 Ways to Wear the Urban Decay Electric Palette: Urban TropicsThis one is similar to On the Line, except that the line is much thicker and uses three shades instead of two. Again, the pigments are applied wet hear so I could get a crisp line.

Shades used: Fringe, Freak and Thrash.

Other products used: butter LONDON WINK Eye Pencil in Union Jack Black and Physicans Formula Va Va Voom Volume Mascara.

Dark and Stormy

9 Ways to Wear the Urban Decay Electric Palette: Dark and StormyI wanted to make a really dark and smoky look with this otherwise bright and bold palette. Dark and Stormy is a success, I’d say.

Shades used: Fringe, Urban and Revolt.

Other products used: Bellapierre Cosmetics Makeup Base, the kohl liner from Physicians Formula Ooh La La Sexy Eyes Trio and CK One Mascara.

Pretty in Pink

9 Ways to Wear the Urban Decay Electric Palette: Dark and StormyI tasked myself with creating a “pretty” and “soft” look with this palette. It was a tough one since this palette is so bold, but I think I achieved it with Pretty in Pink.

Shades used: Savage and Revolt.

Other products used: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Lust and Ulta Voluptuous Volume Mascara.

Which look from the Urban Decay Electric Palette is your favorite?
