A Look at New Essence Cosmetics Now at Walgreens

Are you an Essence Cosmetics fan? There’s a good chance you might not have heard of the brand. While they’re the #1 value cosmetics brand in the world, they aren’t in all stores in the US. I know I never saw Essence until an Ulta opened up in my town. Well, now you’ll have an easier time finding it. Essence Cosmetics is now in select Walgreens!

In addition, there are also some new products for Spring 2014. Let’s have a look at some Essence beauty products. With swatches!

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 CollectionThat’s a lot of new stuff!

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Metal Glam Eye ShadowFor spring, they’ve got some new Metal Glam sparkly eye shadows.

I got to try three colors: Jewel Up the Ocean (blue), Coffee to Glow (tan) and Frosted Apple (pink). Swatch time!

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Metal Glam SwatchesAs you can see, they’re pretty darn shimmery. The colors go on pretty sheer and aren’t as pigmented as I’m used to. They’re good if you want something sparkly but with subtle color.

Essence Metal Glam Eye Shadows go for $2.99 each.

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Sun Club BronzerNext, the Sun Club Bronzer. This comes in two shades: Sun Light for blondes and Sun Glow for brunettes. I tried Sun Glow.

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Sun Club Bronzer in Sun GlowThis bronzer is one of my favorite things from the whole Essence collection. It has just the right amount of color and shimmer. It’s one of the prettiest and most realistic bronzers I’ve tried.

It also smells like cocoa butter, which makes me want to hit the beach.

The Essence Sun Club All-In-One Bronzing Highlighter goes for $4.49 each.

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Get BIG Lashes MascaraThe Get BIG Lashes mascara has a really big tube. Like, super fat.

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Get BIG Lashes Mascara WandAnd, as you can see, the mascara wand is also big and fat. The bristles are a bit softer than average. This mascara does a pretty good job of creating a bold look and is especially good at separating lashes and avoiding clumping.

The Essence Get BIG Lashes Triple Black Mascara goes for $3.99.

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Lash Mania Reloaded MascaraAnother mascara! Yep, Essence has two new mascaras this season. The Lash Mania mascara is meant to make you look like you’re wearing false lashes.

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Lash Mania Reloaded Mascara WandNormally, I’m not a big fan of these kinds of mascara wands, but I can’t help but like it. Why? Because it totally lives up to the promises. While this mascara doesn’t separate lashes as well as the other one, it’s great at creating some bold, false-looking lashes.

You can see it in action in yesterday’s FOTD.

The Essence Lash Mania Reloaded Mascara goes for $4.99.

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Long Lasting LipstickYay, lipstick! This is part of the Long Lasting Lipstick collection. I tried: Wear Berries!, On the Catwalk! and Dare to Be Nude!.

Swatch time!

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Long Lasting Lipstick SwatchesI like all of these colors. As you can see, they go on kind of sheer. You can build up the color with several coats.

My favorite thing about these lipsticks is the moisturizing texture. They aren’t drying like some lipsticks can be.

The Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks go for $2.99 each.

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Stay No Matter What PencilsThey call these the Stay No Matter What Eyepencil and Shadows. I tried, from top to bottom, Whipped White Frosting and Gorgeous Grey.

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Stay No Matter What PencilsThese are some jumbo pencils. You can use them as eyeliner or eye shadows (I liked using them as eyeliner.)

Swatches!

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Stay No Matter What Pencils SwatchesThe colors go on really well. I like these a lot (especially the grey), but here’s one thing: They’re not as waterproof as they say. I found that they smudged and removed just as easily as any other eyeliner or eye shadow pencil.

The Essence Stays No Matter What Eyepencil and Shadows go for $2.99 each.

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Crystal EyelinersFinally, the Crystal Eyeliners are new for Spring 2014. I tried, from top to bottom, Twinkly Starlight and Gold Rush.

These use a long, floppy liquid eyeliner brush.

Essence Cosmetics Spring 2014 Collection: Crystal Eyeliners SwatchesAs you can see from the swatches, Gold Rush goes on way better than Twinkly Starlight. Still, these are a good choice when you want a bit of sparkle.

The Essence Crystal Eyeliners go for $2.99 each.

What’s your favorite from the Essence Cosmetics spring collection?

Is there anything here that catches your eye? And, for that matter, is Essence in stores where you live?

  1. You make me want to try the mascaras! I tried a couple from Essence, but they didn’t provide much volume Looks like I tried the wrong ones. I’m not a fan of their eyeshadows though. They’re too sheer for my taste.

  2. Nice stuff from Essence .. I wish my Ulta stocked more of their products. There is just a tiny end cap and it’s usually pretty picked over 🙁
