5 Things You Should Do Every Morning to Look Great All Day

The morning is such an important time. In the AM, you’re starting your day fresh. Everything from the day, week, month or year before is washed away and you get to begin again anew.

Why not start the day off right? There are just five simple things you can do every morning to look great all day, every day!. Now, don’t get scared by the number—some of these are easy or no-brainers. You may even be doing some of these already!

5 Things You Should Do Every Morning to Look Great All Day

  1. Take a deep breath and think positively. Call it whatever you want: meditation, daily affirmations, or just relaxing. When your alarm clock goes off, hit snooze, and then lay in bed for a few minutes letting your mind wake up slowly. Think about everything you need to do today and all the things you can add to your schedule to make you happy and keep a smile on your face. Don’t let your to-do list cause you any anxiety. Just keep it positive!
  2. Start fresh. Often, when we wake up, we don’t always feel ready-to-go. Regardless of whether you’ll be showering or not (and you definitely don’t have to do it every day), waking up your skin by washing your face with a gentle facial cleanser is a good idea. It’ll make you feel clean and happy. Try it!
  3. Moisturize and protect your skin. That means a slathering of moisturizer and a healthy dollop of SPF. Just make sure that each of these is suited for your skin. Pick a moisturizer that fits your skin type (dry, oily, normal, etc.) and an SPF that’s formulated specifically for faces.
  4. Pick an outfit that makes you happy. This has two effects on how you look today. First, it’ll make you cheerful, which lets your positive light shine on others. Second, you’ll probably be wearing clothes that look flattering on you. So, pick something that makes you feel comfortable and cute, pretty or sexy. Have to work today? Even fun socks could do the trick if you can’t stray from your uniform.
  5. Apply makeup that you’re comfortable with. If you’re not big into bold makeup, pick something light and pretty. If you want to go bold, go for it with confidence! Honorable mentions: Keep your eyebrows manageable—they frame your face! Get a good night’s sleep the night before, reducing puffiness around your eyes and an irritable attitude. Throw in exercise if you can—it’s always good!
