Beauty Box 5 Review: October 2015

October means two things: Halloween and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For this month’s Beauty Box 5, they went with the latter for their theme. That means all pink, all the time!

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription services where you spend $12 a month and they send you a box of 5 full and sample beauty products.

Let’s crack open the box, shall we?

Looks like pretty darn good box, right?

Beauty Box 5 October 2015: The BoxIn the October 2015 box, I got…

This month’s box is worth over $40.

Happy Hands HappyFace Makeup Cleansing Cloth

Beauty Box 5 October 2015: Makeup Cleansing ClothGuys…GUYS! This makeup cleansing cloth is the best thing I’ve gotten in a long time. It’s going to change up my beauty game forever.

Normally I use makeup remover wipes to remove makeup, but they’re kind of annoying. They don’t work that great, they leave behind a residue and I keep having to go to the store to buy new ones.

And then this makeup cleansing cloth comes along. It’s super duper soft, like a Sherpa blanket, and all you do is get it wet. That’s it. Water. And it takes off my makeup so well. Nothing is left behind and my face feels fresh. It’s so easy and fast, too. And you can keep reusing it.

This is by FAR my favorite thing in this month’s box. I could go on about this for hours, but I’ll spare you…

Ferro Cosmetics Pink Rhinestone Kabuki Brush

Beauty Box 5 October 2015: Ferro Kabuki BrushThis cute kabuki brush is super soft with medium bristle stiffness. It does a great job of buffing blush onto my cheeks. Blending is a breeze.

I’d say the only downside is the pink-dipped bristles just because it’s hard to see how much blush I have on the brush. Then again, that would be the case for any pink kabuki brush.

Styli-Style Perfect Pout Long Lasting Balm Stick

Beauty Box 5 October 2015: Styli-Style Balm StickAnother item from Styli-Style. This month we got a tinted lip balm. I got the Playful Pink shade.

Beauty Box 5 October 2015: Playful Pink SwatchThis shade has a very small amount of shimmer. The color payoff is just a tiny bit sheer, but mostly saturated. You can play with the sheerness based on how many layers you put on.

I think this tinted balm is fine. It’s not sticky and it’s relatively hydrating, I just don’t agree about it being long-lasting. It was totally gone in two hours or less.

Nubar Nail Polish Mini

Beauty Box 5 October 2015: Nubar Nail Polish Mini in PinktoberThis nail polish comes in a fitting color for this month: Pinktober.

The shade is a super pale pink that reminds me of the Barbies I played with in the early ‘90s. It’s a very Barbie, old-school shade.

As far as the polish itself, it was a tad sheer. The picture above is with three coats, and it only just started having solid color on the third coat.

What do you think of this month’s box? Which would you be most excited to get?

(Ahh! Makeup cleansing cloth!)

Let’s chat about it in the comments.
